TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified
Correctional RN in Shelby, Montana, 59474! Job Title: Registered
Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 12 weeks
Shift: Days or Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours guaranteed
Experience: One (1) year of professional nursing experience
preferred License: Must possess current licensure in the state of
employment Certifications: A valid driver's license required
Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited college, university or
nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing Description: The
Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides comprehensive nursing
care. Responsibilities include executing Licensed Independent
Provider's orders, dispensing and administering medications, and
assisting in examinations and treatment. Nursing and supervisory
techniques are applied in the care and treatment of
inmates/residents. All technical and clinical procedures are
performed within the scope of education and licensure. RN attends
sick call with the physician to see inmates/residents. Preparation
of a list of inmates/residents for examination and the examining
room setup is required. Operating pill call, dispensing medication,
and documenting as necessary is essential. The RN communicates with
Licensed Independent Providers for medication and treatment orders.
Emergency procedures are executed as needed, and Licensed
Independent Providers are notified for treatment orders. Assisting
in coordinating professional medical services and addressing their
needs is required. Monitoring inmate/resident hospitalizations for
early releases is also part of the role. The role includes
providing guidance and supervision to nursing and medical staff.
Maintaining good working relationships with staff and outside
providers is important. Utilizing established policies and
procedures in decision-making is required. Regular evaluation of
medical service provision to prevent duplication is crucial.
Security and confidentiality of all medical records must be
maintained. Assisting with the review of medical files ensures
proper documentation of services. Monitoring potential catastrophic
illnesses is a necessary responsibility. Auditing pharmacy use for
adherence to policies and evaluating compliance with pharmacy laws
is required. Observing and recording inmate/resident behavior is
part of the duties. Inspecting the medical unit for potential
contraband is necessary. Health counseling and education may be
provided on an individual or group basis. Assisting in preparing
and maintaining various records and reports is part of the role.
Reading, analyzing, comprehending, and interpreting medical and
technical documents are required. Responding to lawsuits and
attending court hearings when necessary is part of the role.
Facilitating accreditation of the medical program by providing
efficient services is essential. Safety and accident reports are
prepared as required. Taking appropriate action in cases of serious
