Job Description:

-PRIMARY FUNCTIONEstimating and submitting proposals for the Bridge Division. Provide management direction for a field project or two or more smaller projects.TYPICAL DUTIES1. Review drawings, generate in-house takeoffs and generate detailed spreadsheets and scopes of work. 2. Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors and confirm scopes.3. Attend pre-bid meetings and/or site visits as necessary. Represent company in meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.4. Plan, organize and assist in staffing key field positions.5. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate and division policy.6. Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and AIE contacts, to facilitate construction activities.7. Prepare time, cost and labor estimates for construction projects by analyzing project drawings, specifications and RFP's. 8. Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.9. Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.10. Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Division Manager. -MINUMIM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEEducation and experience requirements include: four-year engineering degree or equivalent or extensive (ten or more years) experience/knowledge of bridge construction, design, finance and management required. Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. Must be a business-oriented person. Read and understand Sletten Safety Policy. Familiar with MSDS and OSHA knowledge. -COMMENTSReports to Division Manager.
