OVERVIEW:The Continuous Improvement Specialist provides
professional consultative, teaching, and coaching services for key
leaders, staff and providers across the organization through
process improvement workshops, continuous improvement training
sessions and ad hoc consultation. Additionally, process managers
will partner with operations to develop, implement, and sustain the
Daily Management System (DMS) thus supporting the organization's
goal deployment process while developing and mentoring a process
improvement mindset and system. Provides continuous improvement
support by learning to function as an analyst, facilitator,
consultant and/or project manager as required. This individual will
work throughout the system with a broad range of stakeholder groups
in clinical, operational and enterprise systems areas. Core job
standards include being successful at ongoing communication with
key stakeholders, project management, documentation and
facilitation or coaching to team members, sponsors and process
owners in order to help them identify and work through challenges
and achieve their performance improvement
goals.EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in business or related field,
required. Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or
related field, preferred. EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3 years' experience
in developing reports, delivering presentations/briefings, and
interacting with management groups.2-5 process engineering
experience including 1-2 years hospital process improvement. 5
years of facilitation experience. Project Management experience
Application in a hospital setting of continuous process improvement
tools and methods, to include all of the following: Toyota
Production System, Value Stream Management, 5S, Kaizen, Rapid
Process Improvements, A3 All candidates will go through a workshop
leader "certification track" in order to provide in depth
opportunities to learn the key elements of being a workshop leader.
Successful "certification" is necessary within 1year, in order to
facilitate workshops independently, preferred. The certification
track for 5S includes 3-workshops to co-lead and lead. After each
certification workshop, a performance review will be completed by
the consultant and consultant conducting the certification
training. Post-certification will be reviewed and approved by the
department director and medical director, which may include outside
advice from external consulting groups. Full-time CI Process
Managers may be required to facilitate 10-14 workshops throughout
the year upon successful certification, preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:Certified RPI & 5S Workshop Leader,
preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Skilled Communicator -

can strongly influence outcomes by mentoring Professional Behavior

ensure that the strategic priorities yield measurable and

to foster cross-functional team collaboration while utilizing

opportunities. Continuous Improvement Leader - Committed to
self-development to continually practice CI skills in order to lead
and develop others to fit in a CI culture. Effective use of
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and simulation
software. Knowledge of hospital data systems.Skilled in the use of
software-based tools for developing and maintainting process models
and statistical/simulation software (e.dg. SAS, Matlab, Minitab,
Excel add-ins). Demonstrates basic understanding of broad array of
data analystics tools including for example data mining, predictive
