Rural Dynamics - Women's Foundation of MT - Powerhouse
The project aims to increase economic security of Montana women
whose income is now ranked 41st in the nation, moving them out of
poverty and reducing the gender pay gap of 73 cents to a man's
dollar. The Women's Foundation of Montana (WFM) works to advance
women's independence and create a brighter future for girls. The
AmeriCorps member will build awareness of WFM and support
Powerhouse Montana, an initiative of WFM that connects over 600
members to opportunities and mentors across Montana. This position
will be based in downtown Helena, Montana. Further help on this

Member Duties : The member will build capacity for a program
that helps women negotiate for better wages, successfully identify
and apply for jobs, start businesses, and much more. The project
will serve all Montana women, including veterans and at-risk
households, but with an emphasis on women in rural and tribal
communities. This project will also track efforts to increase the
number of women in higher paid non-traditional fields and in
leadership positions. The member will conduct meetings with a least
two of the local PowerHouse Montana groups to better understand
what they're doing and/or would like to be doing at the local level
to support the PowerHouse Montana network. The member will host at
least 4 educational webinars on topics that affect Montana women
and girls. Lastly, the member will secure at least $3,000 in
program support to help ensure the sustainability of the
