Department Overview: *The DNRC Office of Information Technology
provides quality, cost effective information technology for DNRC to
fulfill its mission to ensure Montana's land and water resources
provide benefits for present and future generations. OIT provides
network and client support, application development, data and
systems management, and GIS development services, as well as
coordinating department operations with the State Information
Technology Services Division. *Job Overview: */ / This position is
primarily responsible for the development and delivery of
ServiceNow platform solutions for DNRC. Responsibilities will
include: * Development, modification, and delivery of software
solutions (primarily in the ServiceNow platform, but may vary by
project) * Configuration and maintenance of the automated
deployment infrastructure * Project planning and requirements
gathering * Architectural design and implementation * Quality
assurance * Ongoing maintenance, support and improvements The
DevOps Engineer 2 understands the software development life cycle
and understands the various tools used in CI/CD pipelines. The
DevOps Engineer 2 works with other IT staff, supporting both
in-house and COTS systems and works closely with agency
stakeholders and external contractors in the development of
software solutions. The position serves as an interface between
functional users and technical resources, ensuring application
architecture, design, implementation, deployment and management are
aligned with business requirements while providing robust,
scalable, efficient, and effective services that comply with state
and agency policies. *Essential Functions (Major Duties or
Responsibilities): * *Software Solution Development,
Implementation, and Management * * Develop and manage applications
and components in ServiceNow. * Implement design specifications
using appropriate procedural or object-oriented platforms and
languages; develop applications for desktop, client-server, web,
and mobile environments. * Create system architecture
specifications, including database schemas, entity-relationship
diagrams, deployment diagrams, and other documentation as
appropriate. * Provide schedule and resource estimates to implement
innovative designs and modifications to existing systems. * Manage
software configuration, change requests, and releases; employ
repositories, workspaces, and version control procedures; setup
projects using appropriate development environments and version
control systems. * Deploy new modules or upgrades and complete
fixes within the production environment. * Develop enhancements and
customizations for existing in-house applications and COTS
products. *Continuous Integration and Deployment * Create, modify,
or integrate customized software to provide improved capabilities,
efficiencies or effectiveness to the staff and divisions of the
DNRC. * Develop and implement applications within the CI/CD
processes. * Responsible for deployments with continuous
monitoring, testing and configuration management tools. Deploy new
modules or upgrades and complete fixes within the production
environment * *Project Planning * Identify and communicate to the
team modern technological advances that may be suitable for
inclusion in the CI/CD environment. * Analyze and document models;
create and maintain workflow diagrams, use cases, class and object
diagrams, state chart and sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams,
activity diagrams, and interaction diagrams. * Meet with DNRC
staff, other IT staff and external resources regularly to determine
ever-changing IT needs and technical requirements so we may better
serve the DNRC with modern software and innovative technologies. *
Develop technical requirements specifications that are realistic,
verifiable, and traceable. Other Duties as Assigned- Maintain
currency in current technologies and best practices. Keep abreast
of emerging technologies, standards, and practices. Analyze
business needs and recommend solutions to OIT management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience): * * Associates
degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related
field or equivalent experience is expected. * Three or more years
of experience in software development. * Alternate combinations of
education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case
basis. Special Information: Candidates must be eligible to work in
the United States. A valid driver's license is required with less
than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months. *
Eligibility to Work: In accordance with the Immigration Reform and
Control Act, the person selected must produce within three days of
hire documents that show authorization to work in the United
