Roles & Responsibilities Provide hands-on, high-acuity care for
post-op open heart and cardiovascular patients in a 10-bed CVICU
Operate and manage advanced monitoring and support devices
including A-lines, central lines, balloon pumps and Impella devices
Manage ventilator support and continuous renal replacement therapy
for critically ill patients Assess patients continuously and
implement established protocols with clinical confidence Lead and
mentor teammates — assist with precepting and provide clinical
direction to nursing support staff Coordinate discharge planning
and ensure smooth transitions from admission through discharge
Collaborate with providers, charge nurses and nursing leadership to
deliver safe, patient-centered care Qualifications Registered Nurse
(RN) — active, professional licensure required Recent open heart
recovery experience required — day 1 post-op competency expected
Proven experience in CVICU/critical care with advanced hemodynamic
monitoring Comfortable managing ventilators, CRRT and multiple
invasive lines (central line, A-line) Experience with cardiac
support devices (balloon pump, Impella) strongly preferred
Demonstrated clinical leadership and precepting experience Ability
to safely care for medical-surgical/PCU patients when unit needs
shift Knowledge & Skills Advanced cardiac/post-op open heart care
and CVICU protocols Mechanical ventilation and ventilator
management Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) operation
and patient management Central line and arterial line care, IV
therapy, advanced patient monitoring Familiarity with balloon pump
and Impella pump management Strong assessment, clinical
decision-making and communication skills Ability to lead a team and
provide direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and support staff Benefits
