1/28/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with
Magnet Medical to find a qualified Peds Med/Surg RN in Havre,
Montana, 59501! As a Medical-Surgical Pediatric Registered Nurse
(RN), you will provide specialized nursing care to pediatric
patients who require medical and surgical treatment. Working in
collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will
deliver compassionate care, monitor patient progress, and educate
patients and families about pediatric health conditions and
treatments. Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment and Care
Delivery: Perform comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients,
including physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and
evaluation of medical history. Develop and implement individualized
care plans based on assessment findings, medical orders, and
nursing standards. Medication Administration and Management:
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians,
ensuring accuracy in dosage, route, and timing. Monitor patients
for medication side effects and adverse reactions, taking
appropriate action as necessary. Wound Care and Surgical Support:
Provide post-operative care and wound management for pediatric
patients undergoing surgical procedures. Monitor surgical
incisions, assess wound healing progress, and educate patients and
families on post-operative care instructions. Patient and Family
Education: Educate patients and caregivers about pediatric health
conditions, treatments, and procedures. Provide guidance on disease
prevention, nutrition, medication administration, and developmental
milestones. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with
pediatricians, surgeons, therapists, and other healthcare
professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers,
addressing concerns and providing updates on patient progress.
Emergency Response and Critical Care: Respond promptly to medical
emergencies and changes in patients' conditions, providing urgent
care and life-saving interventions as needed. Maintain proficiency
in pediatric resuscitation protocols and emergency procedures.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed
medical records of patient assessments, interventions, and
outcomes. Ensure compliance with documentation standards, hospital
policies, and regulatory requirements. Patient Advocacy and
Support: Advocate for patients' rights and preferences, ensuring
informed consent and involvement in decision-making. Provide
emotional support to patients and families, addressing their
psychosocial needs and promoting a positive healthcare experience.
Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited school of
nursing with a current RN license. Experience: Previous experience
in pediatric nursing or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be
required depending on employer and patient population. Skills:
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to
prioritize tasks, manage multiple patients, and work effectively in
a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal
