Job Description:

Provides overall planning, direction, coordination, management and supervision for Organizational Development. Responsible for all aspects of staff management, departmental management and for creating a professional practice environment that focuses on the customer. Consults with clinical educators, staff, physicians, and leadership on the organization's educational requirements and opportunities for staff. Develops department policies and procedures. Serves as a resource person to staff and management. Administrative responsibilities include annual departmental strategic plan development, budget preparation, performance reviews and maintenance of regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of facility's history, mission, services and organizational structure Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple assignments, balance priorities, make decisions quickly and handle constantly changing environment Respects the facility at legal proceedings as part of a team Maintains through documentation Uses accurate, clear and concise oral and written communication Expresses excellent judgment, discretion and decision making abilities Maintains a sensitive, fair and impartial approach to dealing with employees Assumes the responsibility for successful complying with federal, state and local employment laws, immigration legislation and affirmative action goals Attends facility meetings, prepares reports and analyzes and provides recommendations in a timely and accurate manner Interacts with department directors/managers on a wide range of staff performance issues, evaluations Mediates conflicts between employees and management to resolve misunderstanding, facilitate communication to promote effective working relationships Creates an annual work plan with goals and strategies Prepares and administers the annual budget Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the Human Resource Division Continuously assess and improve the department's performance Maintain appropriate quality control programs if pertinent Participate in the selection of outside services if needed Works closely with legal counsel as needed related to employment issues Responsible for the direction of the Organizational Development Department Supports and empowers staff to embrace the mission and value statement of the organization Directs and assists in developing the orientation programs, in-services and continuing education for all organization personnel Ensures personnel receive timely, complete and documented orientation and training Interacts professionally with the nursing staff, nurse managers and other department managers to determine specific educational needs to coordinate educational programs to meet those needs Maintains a good working relationship with all departments of the organization Coordinated the required in-service annually, i.e. safety, fire/emergency preparedness, infection control, basic cardiac life support Develops, evaluates, reviews, revises and implement policy and procedures; goals and objective; and standards of care Performs management activities including, hiring, evaluating, termination and departmental staffing Assists with the coordination of performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities Responsible for developing a budget for the Organizational Development Department; ability to write grant proposals if necessary Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and Joint Commission regulations related to the organization Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directive to personnel and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions Treats patients, families and staff with respect and dignity; ensures patient confidentiality Studies current trends, new technology, new teaching methodologies through professional journals, seminars, conferences and professional societies Able to use available computer software programs for budget planning and monitoring, work attendance, unusual occurrence reporting and regulatory compliance documentation Ability to provide leadership development training and education to staff and management Performs other duties as assigned Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
Nursing, health or business-related degree required; Masters preferred

3 to 5 years health related experience preferred

Proficient in all aspects of computer and software programs, i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and the internet

Excellent customer service skills
