(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to
support effective communication within a school environment in Box
Elder, SD. This role involves providing sign language
interpretation services to enhance accessibility for students,
staff, and visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing. Key
Responsibilities: Interpret spoken language into American Sign
Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction,
meetings, and events. Facilitate clear communication between deaf
or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, classmates, and
school personnel. Travel as required to various school locations
within the district to provide interpretation services. Maintain
confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of
interpreting. Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language
and spoken English. Experience working as a sign language
interpreter in educational settings is highly desirable. Strong
knowledge of Deaf culture and ethical interpreting practices.
Ability to travel to multiple school sites as needed. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Location: Based in Box
